Reigning champion Al Jazira continued their struggles this season after squandering a two-goal advantage to draw 2-2 against Al Dhafra at Hamdan bin Zayed Stadium in matchweek 4 of the Arabian Gulf League.

The Pro League Committee celebrated International Teachers Day by honouring Mohamed Khalil Al Hammadi and Ali Al Shehhi, match commissioners working in education, Fahd Abdulrahman, an Abu Dhabi Sports Channel commentator working in education as well as Mohamed Ali Al Hammadi an educator. Abu Dhabi's Department of Education and Knowledge also received a trophy and a certificate from the PLC.

The game started with a bang as The Pride of Abu Dhabi romped to a two-goal lead inside the opening 11 minutes. First, it was last season's Young Player of The Year Khalfan Mubarak who cut in from the right to drive home Romarinho's cross in the 5th minute to open his account for the season. The Brazilian then turned from creator to scorer after Salem Al Eedi's throw-in was flicked by Mabkhout onto the path of Romarinho who curled in from inside the box to double Al Jazira's lead.

The hosts clawed one back halfway through the opening half as Ahmed Al Abri's out-swinging corner kick was met by Ailton Almeida's powerful header that beat Ali Khaseif.
As the first half was drawing to a close, The Western Knights intensified the pressure on their visitors and they found a break when Khalid Al Darmaki set up Sultan Al Suwaidi to launch a long-range thunderous drive that nestled into the top corner to complete Al Dhafra's comeback in added time.

The draw adds a fifth point to Al Dhafra's tally while the champions have extended their winless run to three games, floating just above the relegation zone with four points from as many games.
