Bani Yas held Al Jazira to a 2-2 draw at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in matchweek 3 of the Arabian Gulf League.

The first real threat came in the 34th minute, as Ali Mabkhout unleashed a powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the box, but Bani Yas's goalkeeper Fahad Al Dhanhani saved brilliantly.

In the 45th minute, Mabkhout was once again the centre of attention, as he intercepted Hasan Al Muharrami's poor pass and advanced towards the box. The UAE international scored from the rebound after his initial shot was saved by Al Dhanhani, marking his fifth league goal of the season.

The Sky Blues responded less than two minutes later, when Leroy George's crossed freekick from the right flank found Pedro Conde, whose clever header crept past Al Jazira's goalkeeper Adel Abu Bakr.

In the 69th minute, Mabkhout nearly doubled his tally, when he got at end of Mohamed Jamal's accurate cross, however, his brilliant diving header cannoned off the crossbar.
The Pride of Abu Dhabi restored their lead in the 84th minute, as Nacer Barazite's low powerful cross was deflected off Salim Al Hammadi and landed behind Al Dhanhani, making it 2-1 for the home side.

Five minutes later, Al Hammadi turned from villain to hero when he scored the equalising goal for Bani Yas, as his right footed screamer nestled into the back of Abu Bakr's net.

Following the draw, Al Jazira temporarily occupy second place with seven points ahead of their match against Ajman next week. Meanwhile Bani Yas sit eighth with three points and will face Al Wahda in matchweek 3 of the Arabian Gulf League.
