Everton Ribeiro took the free-kick short alongside the penalty box and a smart dummy by Asamoah Gyan left the ball to Khamis Ismaeel whose powerful effort cannoned off the crossbar after being tipped by Ali Khaseif. Al Ahli defender Salmin Khamis was rose highest and headed in the rebound to bring the hosts level.

Luckily for him the ball went straight to the feet of the onrushing Ribeiro who applied the finish from close-range to turn the table on Al Jazira and with just five minutes on the clock, earn ‘The Red Knights' an important 2-1 victory to keep their title hopes alive.
