Al Ain 2:2 Al Jazira AGL. Round 8. Match Summary

uae.agleague.ae: November 18, 20173
Al Ain drew Al Jazira 2-2 in the biggest game of matchweek 8 and failed to capitalise on the defending champions' poor start to the season, also missing out on a chance to stay on level points with Al Wasl at the top of the Arabian Gulf League table. Ali Mabkhout and Marcus Berg both bagged braces for either side as the visitors rescued a late point.
The first half opened with Al Ain dominating the game, especially through striker Marcus Berg who managed to bag two goals to his name within the first twenty minutes of the match.
In the 9thminute, Caio Lucas received a brilliant through ball from Omar Abdulrahman, and squared for Berg who tapped it in to open the scoring for Al Ain.
Another nine minutes later Berg doubled his tally and the hosts' lead, when Abdulrahman assisted from the same location Caio did but this time with a high cross for Berg who converted once again.
The Pride of Abu Dhabi pulled one back before the end of the first half as Ali Mabkhout took advantage of a cross to score sweep home and half the deficit at the break.
Last season's Arabian Gulf League top goalscorer, Mabkhout, brought Al Jazira level late into the game with an 88th minute strike.
This result keeps Al Ain in second place with 18 points, two behind Al Wasl who have 20 points. On the other hand, defending champions Al Jazira's revival was cut short and they now sit in sixth place with 10 points, ahead of Sharjah who are on nine points.
