Al Jazira 0:0 Al Wasl. AGL. Round 5. Match Summary

uae.agleague.ae: 20 October 2017
Al Jazira and Al Wasl played out a stalemate at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi in matchweek 5 of the Arabian Gulf League.
The hosts were chasing a positive result after a poor start of the season saw them go three games without a win. Al Wasl on the other side came into this game undefeated and looking to continue their hot streak to solidify their spot at the top of the table.
The first half saw plenty of chances for both sides, Al Jazira came closest after a dangerous curved set-piece sent into the 18-yard box just slipped past Sultan Al Manthari's goal. On the other side of the pitch, Fabio De Lima, Caio Canedo Correa and Ronaldo Mendes failed to exert the same influence they have done over the past few matchweeks in the league.
In the second half, The Pride of Abu Dhabi moved back and tried to soak up the pressure and prevent the Al Wasl attackers from finding space. Their attempts to halt The Cheetahs were successful, as the visitors failed to score for the first time this season. Chances on goal were far few between, until the last minute of the game where Mendes' cross was sent into the box, but was easily caught by Ali Khaseif.
This result keeps Al Wasl one point behind Al Wahda in second place, while Al Jazira move up to eighth with five points from as many games.
