uae.agleague.ae: 3 November 2017
Al Jazira and Shabab Al Ahli drew 0-0 in a match of few chances at the Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium in matchweek 7 of the Arabian Gulf League.
Shabab Al Ahli showed uncharacteristic lack of composure as they ended the game without a single shot on target.
Shabab Al Ahli's most dangerous chance of the first half came in the opening minute of the game when they threatened down Al Jazira's left hand side but failed to score. Mid-way through the first half, the hosts went down that same side via Mohamed Fawzi, who attempted a shot from just outside of the box but it landed just over Majed Naser's net. In the end, the first half ended goallesswith Shabab Al Ahli controlling most of the possession.
The second half followed the same path, and Shabab Al Ahli made the first change of the game when they brought on playmaker Habib Fardan on for the Korean Moon Chang-jin in the 57thminute. the Arabian Gulf League's top goalscorer last season, Ali Mabkhout, returned from injury, coming in as a 71st minute substitute for Mohamed Al Hashmi to bolster Al Jazira's attack.
This draw halts Shabab Al Ahli's rise into the top 3, as they sit on 12 points in fourth place behind Al Wahda. Meanwhile, Al Jazira fail to build on last weekend's win, but move into sixth place with nine points.
