Al Jazira 1:0 Kalba. AGL. Round 17. Match Summary

uae.agleague.ae: 2 February 2017
Ali Mabkhout's 17th goal of the season was the difference at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi as Al Jazira registered their sixth consecutive win in round 17 of the Arabian Gulf League.
As part of the "Fair Support" initiative organised by the Pro League Committee as part of "The Year of Giving" series of initiatives, Al Jazira Mohammed Adam and Kalba fan Ahmed Sabil entered the pitch with the players and lined up for the pre-match ceremony.
Left winger Leonardo was a persistent danger on Kalba defence in the first half and after a tame header early on, he tested Kalba keeper Mohammed Osman with a long-range effort, but the latter stood tall and pushed it away.
Shortly after Al Jazira took the lead as Ali Mabkhout took up a position inside the opposition box to meet Mohamed Fawzi's cross from right wing and convert it into the net in the 30th minute.
Al Jazira went into the break leading 1-0 and in the second half Al Jazira dominated most of the play.
Leonardo forced Osman into a save in the 64th minute as Kalba struggled to create any danger in the absence of their attacking duo Ciel and Bakary Kone as the hosts saw the remainder of the second half to emerge with valuable three points in their pursuit of the league title.
The win maintains Al Jazira's 5 points lead at the top of the table with 44 points. While defeat for Kalba keeps them in 11th place with 16 points.
