Ali Mabkhout and Khalfan Mubarak netted a hat-trick each as Al Jazira defeated Emirates Club 6-0 at Mohammad bin Zayed Stadium in matchweek 11 of the Arabian Gulf League on Friday.
The hosts looked more lively in the early stages of the game, with the most dangerous chances coming for Mohamed Fawzi in the 13th minute. Following an impressive teamwork, Fawzi’s shot from inside the box went wide.
In the 25th minute, Salim Rashid almost opened the scoring but his powerful effort hit the bar as the game remained goalless.
Al Jazira’s efforts eventually paid off as they broke the deadlock in the 26th minute. Mabkhout found a long pass inside the box before nodding the ball to Mubarak who dribbled past the Emirates defender and slotted home.
Just before the break, Mubarak doubled his tally and scored his side’s second goal. Mubarak found Leonardo Pereira’s through pass from the edge of the box before scoring past Emirates keeper Ali Saqr.
Three minutes after the restart, Mabkhout turned from provider to scorer as he netted his side’s third goal from the spot. The Emirati forward converted calmly into the bottom right corner of the net to make it 3-0.
Despite their three-goal advantage, Al Jazira continued to push forward, hoping to increase their tally and they eventually did.
Following an impressive individual effort on the left flank, Mabkhout dribbled past Emirates defenders inside the box and sent a curling effort into the back of the net in the 64th minute. Only three minutes later, the 28-year-old completed his hat-trick, scoring his side’s fifth goal of the game.
After scoring two goals, Mubarak provided an assist as he sent an through pass to Mabkhout who beat his markers and went one-on-one with Saqr and found the back of the net. 
Mubarak had enough time to increase his tally as he found Zayed Alameri's through pass before converting his third goal into the back of the net with 11 minutes to go.
Al Jazira are now tied on 25 points with Sharjah and Al Ain. Meanwhile, Emirates are frozen on eight points in 13th place.
