Al Jazira Lose The Cup Final Rehersal to Al Ahli

Al Jazira lost their match against their guests Al Ahli, with 3 goals to 1, when they welcomed them in Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium at the night of Saturday the 6th of April, as part of the 22nd round of the Arabian Gulf League.
Walter Zenga started the match with Ali Khaseif, Khalid Sabil, Musallem Fayez, Jumaa Abdullah, Hyungmin Shin; Salim Ali, Khamis Ismail, Jucilei Da Silva; Ahmed Al Ghilani, Abdulaziz Barrada and Ali Mabkhout.
The substitutes were Khalid Al Senani; Hassan Amin, Salim Masoud, Subait Khater; Sultan Barghash, Abdullah Qasem and Ahmed Al Attas.
The start of the match was enthusiastic, and Ali Mabkhout managed to put the ball behind the keeper in the 7th minute but the referee cancelled the goal as he thought that Mabkhout used his hand to control the ball.
The remaining minutes of the first 20 minutes was quiet and didn’t saw any clear scoring chances on the both ends, except for the quick counter attack that led by Barrada, who passed it to Mabkhout, who cross it towards Ahmed Al Ghilani, but the latter failed to reach the ball before the keeper in the 20th minute.
Majed Hassan received yellow card in the 27th minute for a violent tackle commit it on Ali Mabkhout, Mabkhout shot the free kick but the human wall block it.
The clearest chance on this half was for Al Jazira, when Mabkhout received Barrada through pass and get passed Al Ahli defender and struck it behind the keeper, but the right post blocked his shot in the 29th minute.
Ahmed Khalil scored the first goal for Al Ahli in the 36th minute, then and Bashir Saeed added the second in the 39th.
The remaining minutes of the first half, including the extra one, ended without any change on the score board, and the half ended with Al Jazira trailing by 2 goals.
After the restart with 5 minutes Al Ahli were awarded a penalty when it was adjudged that Ahmad Khalil had been felled by Abdelaziz Barrada in the area. Though Ali Khaseif went the right way, Grafite’s spot kick had too much sting and found its way into the bottom corner to put Al Ahli 3-0 in front. 
In the 54th minute Al Jazira were inches away from pulling one back when Khalid Sabil pinged a cross into the box and Ali Mabkhout narrowly missed his connection. A minute later in a well-worked breakaway Al Ahli could’ve had a fourth as Ismaeel Al Hamadi set Humaid Abbas away down the right, who played a weighted pass to Grafite in the area but his shot was saved by Khaseif. 
Zenga made a double substitution to try and change the path of the game, bringing on Hassan Ameen and Abdulla Qasem in place of Salim Ali and Ahmed Al Ghilani before an hour had passed, and Al Ahli made a change of their own as coach Cosmin brought on Ciel for the first goalscorer Ahmad Khalil. 
In the 64thminute Hassan Ameen almost made an impact but his shot from a tight angle rose over the crossbar. The frantic pace of the game continued right throughout as Ciel ripped down the right wing for Al Ahli and in the 78th minute caught Ali Khaseif out of position but was unable to capitalize.
In the 87th minute Al Jazira netted a consolation goal as Jucilei chested Barrada's free kick into the net to make it 3-1, but after 5 minutes of stoppage time Al Ahli were victorious.
This defeat froze Al Ahli credit at the 38th point, as they remained in the 3rd place in the league table, ahead of Al Sharjah and Al Wahda with 2 points.
