Al Jazira Loses and Eliminates from the President Cup

The team failed to pass Al Wahda in Abu Dhabi derby and bids a sad farewell to the UAE President Cup after they lose their 16 round match with only one goal, in a match that played in Tahnoun bin Mohammed Stadium at the night of Tuesday the 10th of December.
The startup line for the derby consisted of Ali Khaseif, Abdullah Musa, Musallem Fayez, Jumaa Abdullah, Khalid Sabil, Khamis Ismail, Subait Khater, Hyung Min Chin, Abdulaziz Barrada, Ricardo Oliveira and Nelson Valdez; and missed the match for injuries each of Ali Mabkhout, Yaqub Al Hosani and Salim Masoud.
Zenga men started the first half possessing the ball, but the first scoring chances was for Al Wahda with a free kick, but Hamdan Al Kamali shot went above the post with inches; the first 20 minutes went calmly, except for the yellow card that Musallem Fayez had in the 17th minute.
Oliveira had a good opportunity to test Al Wahda goalkeeper, but his shot from that free kick went directly to Adel Al Hosani hands in the 21st minute. Ali Khaseif then cleared Diaz header to a corner went without creating any danger on Al Jazira goal.
The same scenario continued in the last 15 minutes, until Sebastian Tagliabu broke the ice and gave Al Wahda the first goal in the before the end of the first half with 3 minutes. The referee added only 1 minute then ended this half with Al Jazira trailing behind with one goal.
The second half started without any changes on Al Jazira squad, and they started directly their search for the equalizer and the passes and crosses kept sending towad Valdez and Oliveira, before Barrada shot blocked by the human wall of Al Wahda at the 50th minute. The Moroccan faced the goal when he received Musa cross, but he shot above the post.
Barrada and his teammates increased their attacking rush towards Al Wahda goal in the following minutes, then Walter Zenga decided to intervene and strength his attacking line by pulling Subait out and getting Abdullah Qasim in the right flank in the 57th minute, the latter opened slot in the left side of Al Wahda defensive lines and sent many crosses, all blocked by Al Kamali and his crowded teammates.
Qasim sent another dangerous cross in the 69th minute, but Valdez and Oliveira failed to convert it into the net. Then Khalid Sabil sent a strong shot in the 72nd minute but it missed the goal also.
Al Wahda players tried to break the high rhythm by short quick passes in the center, so Zenga intervened again the 81st minute and substituted Musallem Fayez with Yasir Matar, before he used his last card and substitute Khamis Ismail with Ahmed Rabee in the 85th minute.
The last five minutes went fast for Al Jazira players, and the referee blew his last whistle to announce a sad farewell for Al Jazira to the UAE President Cup competition.
