Abu Dhabi: 26 October 2013

Al Jazira Football Company has relieved the Spanish coach of the first football team, Mr. Luis Milla, and replaced him with the Italian Mr. Walter Zenga, to lead the team for a season and half, according to an official announcement from the club released on Friday October 25th.

The company official spokesman Mr. Ali Al Nuaimi told the media after the last match against Al Dhafra that the company has replaced Milla with Zenga who managed in the last season Al Nasr team.

In the post-match press conference that followed Al Dhafra match, Milla said that he totally understands the reasons behind the club decision to work with a new coach as the results of the team failed to meet the club ambitions. He stressed that he will be the biggest fan of Al Jazira, and wished best luck for his successor, and that he can improve Al Jazira performances and results.

Meanwhile, Zenga refused to waste any time and run an early morning training session in the first sub-pitch on Saturday October 26th to relief the players from the fatigue they suffer after Al Dhafra match. The session has been held after a short meeting between the coach and his staff and the players in Al Jazira Club arena.

The team will keep training daily in Al Jazira Academy grounds in Al Shawamekh area, under the supervision of Zenga and his staff, as the team will turn the focus to the next league match, which will be against Dubai at Wednesday October 30th in Al Nahyan stadium as part of the 6th round of the Arabian Gulf League.
