News
Abu Dhabi: 11 November 2013

Al Jazira football team has finished their preparations for their next match in the sixth round of UAE Cup League Match against bani Yas, which will be played in Bani Yas Stadium at Wednesday 13 November.

The team conducted the main training session on Tuesday 11 November on the first sub-pitch at the club, under the supervision of the manager Walter Zenga and his staff; and with the presence of the members of Al Jazira Football Company board of directors and managerial staff of the first football team.

Zenga worked with the players on raising the physical fitness levels, and also on applying different offensive and defensive tactics. Meanwhile the keepers worked separately with their coach. The duo Sabil and Valdez worked with the fitness coach around the field, as they are still recovering from their injuries.

The Absentees:

The players who missed the session, and will also miss the match, are the national trio Ali Khaseif, Khamis Ismail and Ali Mabkhout, who joined the national squad for the two matches against Hong Kong and Vietnam at the 15th and 19th of this month in the qualifications of AFC Cup of Nations 2015; the Olympic U-22 team players Salim Ali, Salim Rashid, Hamad Al Hammadi, Sultan Al Suwaidi and Saif Al Miqbali, who are in a preparatory camp in Muscat.

Also missed the session the injured Salim Masoud, who is went under two surgical operations in Germany; Yaqub Al Hosani, who underwent a surgery on Tuesday for his knee also in Germany; and Khalid, Sabil who is going through a recovery program, him and his Paraguayan teammate Nelson Valdez.

Disciplinary Situation:

The duo Ricardo Oliveira and Hyung Min Chin will be threatened by missing the last match on this round if any of them received a yellow card during Wednesday game.

The Brazilian had two warnings; the first was in the match against Dubai on the 9th of last October, and the second was in the match against Al Ain in the 7th of this month. Meanwhile, the South Korean had his first yellow card in Al Jazira and Al Shaab match in the 3rd of last September, and he received the second during the match against Sharjah in the 8th of that month. If any one of them received a yellow card against Bani Yas, then he will be suspended from playing in the last match in this round, which will be against Al Wahda on the 2nd of March 2014.

In the same context, Abdullah Qasim will be amongst the choices of his coach for Bani Yas match, after he completed his two-match suspension; he was subjected to this suspension after he received a direct red card during the match against Al Sharjah in this round, and missed the last two matches against Dubai and Al Ain; but now he is cleared to join the team list and will be a useful choice for his coach who is suffering from so many absentees in the squad.

The Teams Position in the Table:

Al Jazira is currently in the 2nd place at the first group of the Cup, with 9 points from 4 matches and only 1 point behind the leader Al Sharjah. Meanwhile Bani Yas is in the 3rd place with 7 points, which means Al Jazira will guarantee the qualifying for the semi-final if they added the next match 3 points to their credit.
