Al Jazira wins the First Friendly Match in Europe


In the presence of the of legenday coach Johan Cruyff – ex Barcelona FC coach -  Al Jazira Team won his first match during the European camp against Swiss FC Lausanne, with a goal scored by Paraguayn Nelson Valdes from Penaly spot.
Al Jazira players made a good match, considering that FC Lausanne has played 5 competitive matches in their local league. Al Jazira has the advantage of position in the start and the midfielders Khamees Ismail, Yasir Matar and Abdallah Gasim controlled the match and set the tempo from the center and they backed the defenders and attackers all the time, until the ninth minute when Sultan Bargash used a defensive error and faced Lausanne goalkeeper who fouled him and forced the referee to show the keeper a red card and signaled a penalty kick, and Nelson Valdez scored the winner from it for Al Jazira at 9th monute.
After the goal Al Jazira continued to dominate the match and reached Lausanne continusly, but after 25 minutes, Lausanne started to react and they shared the possession with Al Jazira, and they almost scored the draw goal from a dangerous attack from right side but Ali Khesaif saved it to a corner kick.
In the second half Luis Milla made several substitutions, Khalid Al Sinani, Saif Khalfan, Salim Masoud and Sibait Khatir replaced Ali Khesaif, Abdallah Jumaa, Khalid Sabeel and Khamees Ismail repectively, Lausanne tried to dominate the match and level the score, but Al Sinani denied them some chances while Al Jazira used the counter attacks ro relief the pressure. Milla again replaced Yaqub Al Hosani, Hameed Al Mas, Salim Al Eidi and Khalid Butti, with Yasir Matar, Abdallah Gasim, Sultan Bargash and Nelson Valdez respectively, the two teams tried to reach the goal but the match ended with victory for Al Jazira.

Cruyff Asks about Al Jazira “No. 7”
After he watched Al Jazira and FC Lausanne match, Dutch legendary coach Johan Cruyff met the directors of the team and spoke to them about the organizing of Al Jazira players’ movement during the match; he also revealed he knows that Arab Players have the individual skills, but as teams they lack discipline but he acknowledge that a great development is occurring now.
After the match Cruyff asked about Al Jazira No. 7 – Ali Mabkhout – he said that this player have all what it takes to play in a leading European League, and he remind him of Zlatan Ibrahimovic during his first time with Ajax Amestrdam.
Cruyff also had a long conversation with coach Luis Milla, and before he leaves he promise he will visit Al Jazira Club during his trip to UAE on next January as he accepted Ayed Mabkhout invitation.
