News
Abu Dhabi: December 8, 2017

Henk Ten Cate, the manager of Al Jazira team, and the defender Mohamed Al Attas, spoke today to the media about the latest preparations for tomorrow match against Urawa Red Diamonds, in the quarter final of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Ten Cate: We Learnt Our Lessons

“Our match against Auckland City was our first experience at this high level tournaments, we were not scared but maybe we felt some nervousness, and maybe we tried to protect our one goal lead rather than pushing forward to score another goal, and this situation helped Auckland to have the ball more than us, which is something I don’t like. We learnt a lot from that game, and we are ready for tomorrow match against Urawa Red Diamonds”.

Al Jazira Plays With No Pressure

“Our injuries list remains the same, and I will use the available players tomorrow against the strong opponent Urawa, the Champions of Asia, who have a lot of very good players, like their Brazilian striker for example. The match will be difficult of course, but we are ready for it, and the victory we got in the first match gave us more confidence, and if fact we have nothing to lose, we are the champions of a local league, while the other teams are champions of their continent, and I think the pressure will be on Urawa more than on Al Jazira”.

Fans Are Invited to Enjoy With Us

“The match by nature will be open to all scenarios, and the winner will be decided only after the final whistle. We are calm and we have nothing to lose, only to win, and we will go there to do our best and to enjoy the match and the great atmosphere of the Club World Cup, and I would like to invite all the fans to come to Zayed Sport City Stadium to support the UAE team Al Jazira and also to enjoy the matches”.

Al Attas: We Are Ready to Do Our Best

“We know that a very difficult match is waiting for us tomorrow against the Champions of Asia, and we will use the next a few hours to prepare ourselves in the best possible way. We know our duties and we are ready to fight again in the name of our country the UAE. We overcame the difficulties of the first match because of the confidence we have from the management and also from the coach, and we know that our fans will be with us tomorrow at Zayed Sport City to support us, and also to play their important role in the success of this global tournament”.
