Al Jazira snatched a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Bani Yas, at Bani Yas Stadium in matchweek 11 of the Arabian Gulf League on Saturday.

After a slow start, Al Jazira threatened Bani Yas in the 31st minute, when Thulani Serero unleashed a screamer from a long way out, however, his effort cannoned off the woodwork.
Seven minutes later, Bani Yas responded, when Joao Victor went up the left flank and crossed the ball to Mohammed Rashid Al Hammadi, however, his effort was denied by the goalkeeper.

The Sky Blues kept the momentum as they broke the deadlock less than one minute later through Pedro Conde, who was left with a simple tap in from a close range following a howler from Khalifa Al Hammadi.

Al Jazira leveled things up in the 44th minute, through Salem Al Hammadi who converted Mourad Batna's low cross into the back of his own net.

In the second half, Batna continued to be at heart of attack for the Pride of Abu Dhabi as he earned a penalty kick for his side in the 70th minute. Super sub Ali Mabkhout sent the ball home from the spot to make it 2-1.

The visitors kept pushing forward in order to secure the full points and three minutes from time, Keno received the ball on the left wing and cut on his right, but his curler missed the target.

Following the game, Al Jazira sit third with 23 points and will face Al Nasr on the 1st of January. On the other hand, Bani Yas occupy the tenth spot with 11 points ahead of their clash against Al Wasl on the 2nd of January.
