Braga: The Cup Competition is Important for us

Abu Dhabi: 27 August 2015
The Brazilian manager of Al Jazira team, Abel Braga, stressed that the Arabian Gulf Cup is an important competition for Al Jazira, and insisted that the high technical level of the derby match against Al Ain will not be negatively affected by the absence of the National and Olympic UAE players from the two teams.
Speaking in the pre match press conference Braga said “This cup competition is important for Al Jazira and it has a big value in the season chart; we will try to get the maximum advantage from it and compete for its title until the end. If the UAE National and Olympic players were here I would played them against Al Ain, but of course I respect their national duty very much. I miss nine important players but our squad is good and talented and I have the solutions to deal with these absences”.
He added “The derby match against Al Ain is always special and important, they are the league champions and they have very good players, especially in the midfield, like Diake and Bastos; and am expecting a great match against them tomorrow and hope the victory and the three points will be ours”.
Braga refused to use the bad weather as an excuse for any stumble against Al Ain, and explained “The high temperature and humidity degrees will affect the both teams tomorrow and we will not use it as an excuse; we suffered against Al Wasl because of the weather but mainly because of the red card incident we suffered from, not only because the heat”.
The coach sent a message to Al Jazira fans, saying “The first thing I always think about is the history and prestige of this club, and the players are sharing the same responsibility with me and they are determined and motivated enough to fight for this shirt, and of course we will always need our fans to be with us, and am sure they will be tomorrow night”.
