Confirmed: Two Surgical Operations for Salim Masoud

News
Abu Dhabi: 24 October 2013

It has been confirmed that the team full back Salim Masoud will be sidelined for more than a month, as he suffered from a setback in his ankle injury, and he will leave to Germany next week to perform two surgeries there.

Salim revealed that he felt excessive pain during the first half of Al jazira last match against Ajman, and that he told his coach he wont be able to carry on, so he has been replaced during the break with Sultan Barghash.

The player admitted he felt depressed because the German doctor told him in his last visit that he can keep playing without any problems until the date of the surgery operation next January, but the pains he felt last Saturday connived him with the necessity of the surgical intervention, and agreed in this with the managerial and coaching staff.

He confirmed that he will leave to Germany on, next Sunday and will perform the first operation on Tues day, and after 4 days he will perform the second one on his second leg.

Masoud expressed his sad feelings for being away from his team during this crucial part of the season, but he stressed that he is totally trusting his teammates ability to cover his space and compensate his absence and fight for the team and for every single point in the upcoming matches.

The player is suffering from Peroneal Tendon Adhesion, and what causes this type of injuries is the continuous efforts and bad pitch surfaces and other causes. He went under Acupuncture treatment which lowered the pain to its minimum levels, but the current setback will make the surgical operations are the only treatment options for him.
