Ecuadorian Media Celebrates Caicedo Move to Al Jazira

Abu Dhabi: 21 January 2014
The Ecuadorian sports media reacted in a positive way with their national attacker Felipe Caicedo, the former of Manchester City, Malaga and Lukomotiv Moscow to UAE giants Al Jazira, in a deal described by the Ecuadorian media as win-win for the two parties.
Al Jazira signed Caicedo during the winter transfers window and has been presented to the media as a replacement to the Paraguayan Nelson Valdez; and he participated in the last match against Al Wasl as substitute.
Infocancha newspaper published an article said on it “after he finished the paperwork, Felipao needed only 48 hours to participate in the first match with his new teammates in a competition match; he played as substitute and played major role in giving Al Jazira the initiative and the three points after they scored twice and conceded only one on that match”.
The article continued “In his first match in the Arabian Gulf League, and with the No. 30 on his back and Al Jazira logo on his chest, Caicedo started his new adventure with receiving a warm welcome while he was warming up to substitute his new teammate Sultan Bargash. He showed a great deal of understanding with the attacking duo Barrada and Mabkhout, and with nice tactical move and individual skill, he forced Al Wasl defenders to abandon their positions and put Barrada in front of the goal with a nice pass, the Moroccan passed to Mabkhout who danced his way behind the keeper and netted the second goal for his team”.
The writer added “The first impressions were highly positive and Al Jazira started getting paid with great performance from his new player, who will help them with his goals to achieve their goals for this season. And for the player, he will now get a new chance to express his individual skills and abilities in warm and friendly atmosphere, away from the Russian freezing ice”.
In the same context, Diario Centro and Ecuavisa Newspapers published photos for the official presentation of the Felipe.
In his twitter account, the journalist Marco Carrasco put a picture for Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium and wrote “Felipao will train and play here with his new team Al Jazira, best of luck”.
