Gerets: Happy with the Second Consecutive win

Kalba: 28 October 2014
The manager of Al Jazira team, Mr. Eric Gerets admitted that his players didn’t perform at their top level in the first half of today match against Ittihad Kalba, even though the team ended the match winning comfortably with 4 goals to nothing.
Speaking in the post-match press conference the coach said “We knew that the bad start of the Ittihad and their situation in the table will make playing against them very complicated and we will have to fight for every ball if wanted to win. We failed to perform at our top level in the first half but we improved in the second and got our second
consecutive victory for the first time in this season”.
He added “We did too much mistakes in the first half, but what satisfied me the most is that we didn’t concede any goal today and we improved a lot on the defensive aspects compared to our latest games”.
The coach refused to agree that the strike Ali Mabkhout is suffering from a level drop as he failed to score in today match against the weakest defense in the league, he explained “Mabkhout did an extraordinary job for the team today, not only on the attack side, but most importantly on the defensive and he was always providing support and extra pair of feet for his teammates in the midfield and am very satisfied and happy with his performance today”.
