Keizer: Criticism Should be Directed Toward Me, Not the Players

News
Abu Dhabi: March 5, 2020

Speaking to the press ahead of Friday game against Ittihad Kalba in the league, the manager insisted that all criticism should be directed towards him, not the players, and explained that he takes full responsibility about performance and results.

“I understand all the criticism and the negative comments and discussions in the media after the defeat we suffered against Khorfakkan. Al Jazira is big team and we have the best players in the country, so it is normal to receive all the heat. We accept that in the same way we accept compliments and praise, but I believe I should take all the criticism, not the players, because I am the manager, and I am the only responsible individual in the team about the performance and the results”. Keizer said in the pre-match press conference.

“My players have my utmost confidence and support”, he continued. “They are totally committed towards the team and they still have the desire and spirit to fight and help the club reach its goals. We were disappointed after the defeat against Khorfakkan, but now we focus only on Kalba, and we know that a very difficult game is ahead of us against them. They play with discipline and organization in defence, and their forwards are very good at receiving high passes and converting crosses to goals. We will have to be smart and focused in order to leave Kalba with the three points, and am sure my players will do whatever it takes to return to Abu Dhabi with victory”.

“Sultan Al Ghafri is training with the group and he is working hard to be fully fit as soon as he can to return to the squad. The injury’s list has expanded to include Serero, Rabii and Renner, in addition to Batna and Abdulrahman, and we will also miss Bruno for the red card he received against Shabab Al Ahli”.
