Speaking to the media ahead of Sharjah game, Marcel Keizer insisted that historical advantages will not play any roles in deciding the outcome of this match, and expressed his trust on his players to improve, and to bounce back from last week draw in the best possible way.

Al Jazira is ready to take on Sharjah

“I was very happy with the performance against Al Ain because we dominated it and created a lot of chances, but we also know that we have to improve and do better. Next game is against Sharjah, who did not lose any match yet in the league, and it will be a very big challenge for us, but we are ready for it. I remember last year’s encounter against them, it ended 1:1 but we performed very well against them at that night, and now we have the confidence to face them against in two days, and I am sure that it will be very good game, and at the same level of the game against Al Ain”.

No historical advantages

“In football every game is different, and history will not give advantages to any team against their opponents. Sharjah did not concede any defeat since the beginning of the season, and they are the leaders and titleholders for a reason. We respect that, but at the same time, we know how good and strong we are, and we believe strongly in ourselves, and in our chances to perform at our top level, and to get the result we want from this important game”.

UAE League finest players to entertain the fans

“Coronado is an amazing playmaker, but we have Omer Abdulrahman and Khalfan Mubarak. They’re disciplined in defense, we have an outstanding group of players in the backline, and I expect an exciting game on Thursday because the two teams have some of the best players in the country, and I am sure that this match will be very enjoyable for the fans in the stadium, and in front of TVs”.

Injury updates

“Amer Abdulrahman will miss Thursday game also due to an injury, along with Abdulrahman Al Ameri who is recovering from knee injury. I can’t specify a date for Kenno return, but I expect him to be ready to join the training sessions after the international break”.

Khalifa Al Hammadi

“As the coach said, we are ready to take on the league leaders in our stadium and with our fans, we know it will be tough challenge but we are preparing very well, and everyone is ready to give their best and to fight to get the three points”.
