Keizer to step down as Coach, Damien Hertog to take lead

Marcel Keizer has resigned his position as Head Coach of Al Jazira Football Club, announced AJFC Chairman HE Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi on Thursday; noting that a global search for a replacement is already underway. Damien Hertog, Assistant Coach will lead the team in the interim. 
 
HE Commented “we are grateful for everything Marcel has done for the club and wish him every success in Lisbon.  We have enjoyed a strong start to the season and the Board will conduct a strategic and thorough global search for Marcel’s replacement to ensure we can build on this early success; not just in the months, but also the years to come. 
 
Keizer, who joined Al Jazira in June 2018 and will move to Sporting Lisbon said: “It has been an honor to serve the Pride of Abu Dhabi, Al Jazira Club, and I wish them success in the years to come.”
 
Interim Head Coach Damien Hertog Commented: “I’m delighted to be asked by the Board to perform the role of Interim Head Coach and I look forward to working hard with the squad to continue our strong start to the season”.
 
Al Jazira Football Club has been unbeaten in the Arabian Gulf League this season and currently sits second in the table.
