Keizer: We Know Shabab Al Ahli and We Are Ready for Them

News
Abu Dhabi: Feb. 5, 2020

Marcel Keizer is confident his players will recover from the disappointment of the derby defeat, and that they will be ready and motivated to give their best against their hosts Shabab Al Ahli, later this Thursday at Rashid Stadium.

“We knows Shabab Al Ahli very well because we faced them twice this season, they are strong and well organized with many options up front and a lot quality in the squad as general’, Keizer told the reporters at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

“They are leading the league table for a reason, and we expect a complicated and tough match against them on Thursday, but am sure we will be ready and well prepared when the time comes. We focused on recovering mentally from the defeat we suffered against Al Wahda, and I am sure my players will be in a better shape, both physically and mentally, to give their best against Shabab Al Ahli in Dubai”.

“We will miss Mourand Batna, Mhammed Rabii and Sultan Al Ghafri against Shabab Al Ahli, and there are some doubts about Marcos Kenno chances to be fit on time for this game. Omer Abdulrahman will travel with the team and we will wait until the last minutes to see if he can start the match from the beginning or from the bench, he suffered from a very complicated knee injury and we are being careful with him to avoid any setbacks”.

“It’s always difficult to specify some reasons behind the defeats we suffered so far during this season, but I think the absence of the important players like Khaseif, Khalfan, Mabkhout, Kenno, Batna and Al Ghafri didn’t help the team, and also the fatigue of the National Team players. It is normal that teams will go through difficulties during their campaigns, and I do not like to make excuses for what we went through and I prefer to focus on working very hard on a daily basis to improve the performance and the results”.
