News
Abu Dhabi: 22 September 2013

In the post-match press conference, Spanish manager of Al Jazira Luis Milla expressed his sadness for losing Al Wasl match points, and for losing his stiker Nelson Valdez who suffered an injury in his knee during the first half of Saturday night fixture.

Milla insisted that his players put an excellent show and outclassed their opponent in spite of the numerical difference after the referee sent off Abdullah Musa and Hyung Min Chin, and in spite they were behind by 2 goals since the first 10 minutes of the match, he believed that the numerical difference gave his players an extra motivation to fight to equalize the score and win it, and he also believed that they spirit that helped them to come from behind and win Al Shaab match, helped them again to equalize the score by 2-2 although they were missing 2 players.

The coach admitted that the individual mistakes cost them the 3 points, and while he refused to issue a direct criticism to the referee, he stressed that the cancelled goal of Ricardo Oliveira for the offside in the first half was correct as it was proven by TV replays, and he also believe that Al Wasl defender deserved a red card as the one Min Chin received it because he fouled Ali Mabkhout who was facing Al Wasl goalkeeper; However, Milla stressed that refereeing mistakes is part of football and in Al Jazira they will never use it to justify the defeats.

The Spanish revealed that his Paraguayan attacker Nelson Valdez injured his knee and he has been admitted to the hospital for further medical tests before reaching a final assessment of his condition, he also insisted that he will never face any problem in forming his squad for the next match against Al Shabab because his team have great players who can cover in absentees, and what matters in this situation is the team character, not the players names.

At the end, Luis Milla tribute the nine players who finished Saturday match, declaring that the excellent performance they put can be even more better of they were 11, but only if every player shown the required character and positive attitude, and remain always humble and focus during the matches.
