Mohammed Ayed, the center back of Al Jazira who joined them during the last summer, described their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup as a dream and as an honor because they will represent the UAE in this global tournament.

“Representing the United Arab Emirates in the Club World Cup is a dream for every Emirati player, we are very lucky in Al Jazira to have this chance to honor our country under the eyes of the world, and we are determined to fight and to give our best so we will reach to final stages of the competition. Some of my teammates are suffering from minor injuries and slight pain, but they are ignoring it and they work hard in the training session to increase their chances to play tomorrow, and am sure this kind of spirit will help us to achieve our goals”, Ayed said in the second part of the conference.

He added “Our results were not positive in the early stages of the league because we missed a lot of players due to an unfortunate injuries, not because we were thinking about the World Cup, and when we get the injured players back our results improved and we climbed the table until we reached the 4th place, we are professional enough not to make such a mistakes, and we will keep thinking about the mission ahead of us without getting distracted by the distant future”.

Mohammed invited the UAE fans to support Al Jazira tomorrow against Auckland City, and said “Al Jazira is representing the UAE, and they players are wearing our flags above their hearts, and on behalf of them I would like to invite all the fans of the other Emirati clubs to come tomorrow and fill the stands of the Hazza bin Zayed stadium to support Al Jazira, and to make the tournament more successful”.
