The Olympic Players Joins Al Jazira Preparations for the Derby

Abu Dhabi: 19 November 2013
Al Jazira first football team kept their daily training sessions going in the first sub-pitch in the club, as the team is preparing for their next league match which will be against Al Wahda in Al Nahyan Stadium at Saturday 23rd of November night, as part of the 7th week matches of the Arabian Gulf league.
The team kept training twice a day for the last days, to increase the physical fitness to its ideal levels, and also to enhance to concentration and the unison between the players, with special training created by the Italian Walter Zenga and went under his close supervision.
The team trained only in the morning of Tuesday the 19th, and the evening training session has been cancelled to give the players the chance to watch the match between UAE National Team and Vietnam, in the qualifications for the Asian Cup Finals 2015.
Walter Zenga worked in the last session with a squad missing the national trio Ali Khaseif, Khamis Ismail and Ali Mabkhout, and the injured duo Salim Masoud and Yaqub Al Hosani.
Meanwhile, the UAE Olympic national team players Salim Ali, Salim Rashid, Hamad Al Hammadi, Sultan and Suwaidi and Saif Al Miqbali has joined their teammates in the group trainings; and the coach is now expecting the return of Khaseif, Khamis and Mabkhout from their national duty on Wednesday and Thursday to evaluate their physical conditions before deciding to rely on them against Al Wahda.
The last session started from the gymnasium as the players prepared for the training with the fitness coach and the physiotherapist. The players and their coaching staff went to the pitch and worked there on different offensive and defensive tactics; the goal keepers worked separately with their coach but they joined the internal match, which saw a serious and intense competence between the players to convince their coach to start with them against Al Wahda in Saturday.
Al Jazira is in the 5th place in the league table with 9 points, only 1 point above Al Wahda who is the 8th place. Saturday derby will be the first three derbies between Abu Dhabi giants, the first will be on Saturday as part of the first round of the league, the second will be part of the second round; and the third derby will be in the last week of the UAE League Cup.
Saturday derby will be of particular importance to Walter Zenga and Jose Peseiro; the Italian needs the 3 points to overcome the frustration of the last defeat the team suffered against Bani Yas in the cup, and to confirm that the big victory against Al Ain was well deserved. In the other side, the derby will be the first official match for the Portuguese coach, who took charge of his team after the last match against Al Sharjah that Al Wahda lost it by one goal, which means the coach will be eager to get a win in the team home, and for his first match.
