Zenga: Emirates Will Complicate the Match for us

Abu Dhabi: 12 December 2013
The team coach highlighted some of the team numbers and statistics from the last 12 months, and described it as negative, and explained that it will be his theme to discuss Al Jazira preparations for their next match against Emirates in the league, this during the press conference he held on the morning of Thursday the 12th of December to talk about that match.
Zenga revealed that Al Jazira kept only 5 clean sheets from their 30 matches in that period, and this number can be used to declare that the shaky defensive performance didn’t start only in the season, but it has deep roots in the team and it will take much time to be solved. He urged the critics to understand this situation and stop asking for quick solutions, and at the same time he explained that the team is improving defensively, and will keep improving.
The coach admitted that he is sad, and his players are frustrated for the defeat against Al Wahda and the elimination from the President Cup, but at the same time he insisted that they are all professional and they are defending Al Jazira shirt, and they must show Al Jazira character and deal with every complicated situation or obstacle with professional attitude.
Zenga described Emirates as strong team who can cause many problems for any opponent and at any ground, but he expressed his trust on the squad who will rely on in next Saturday and that they will do more than 200% of their efforts and energy to win that match.
He announced that the team attacker Ali Mabkhout will miss Saturday match, because he is still recovering from his last injury, and also revealed that some of his players are suffering from physical issues, and this will force him to be precise and careful about his choices for the startup players and the reserves for this match.
Zenga took the full responsibility about the team early elimination from the President Cup, which did not happen in the latest history of Al Jazira team. He also described those who suggest some of the team players as expired elements as impressionists, because the only one who can judge the players is their coach, as he is always with them and works with them on a daily basis.
The coach refused to discuss his plans for the winter transfers window, insisting that all the thoughts in his mind now are related only to Emirates match’ but in return he assured that any big and massive changes on the squad in the middle of the season will affect the team negatively, in the same way that the managerial changes has affected them in the last years.
He ended the press conference by saying its too early for him to assess his work with the team, and his biggest desire is to stay inside Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium for the longest possible time.
