News
Al Shamkha: 19 December 2013

The coach expressed his happy feelings for the well-deserved win that the team accomplished in the last match against their hosts Bani Yas in Al Shamkha Stadium, and he revealed that the performance, not the victory, was what made him happier.

The coach explained that his team controlled the majority of the match and was always the better side and they totally deserved the 3 points; he praised his players for keeping their concentration when they conceded a very early draw goal from Bani Yas. He refused to agree that his team gave up the initiative to Bani Yas after they scored the second winner, and explained that they created many scoring chances in the second part of the second half, but they were not lucky enough to see the ball go behind the keeper.

The coach stressed that he didn’t assigned extra defensive duties to his players for his match; he explained that he started the match with two strikers, Oliveira and Rabee and put Barrada behind them, and at the start of the second half he put a third striker, which was Ali Mabkhout.

The Italian boss offered a special praised for the promising attacker Ahmed Rabee Al Ghilani, who scored the two goals for Al Jazira at the night, he explained that he kept relying on him and he was always rewarding him for his trust with great performance and attitude; he explained that he did a great job when he was playing as a wing against Bani Yas, and when the coach put him as leading striker, he scored two goal.

He also didn’t forget to congratulate Yasir Matar for the great work he didn’t against Bani Yas, and said that performance reminded everybody with the real value of the brilliant Yasir Matar.

The coach ended the conference by insisting that the second consecutive win and reaching the 19th point will not make them thinking about being a real contender for the league title. He explained that what they achieve until now is putting their feet in the start of the right path, and stressed that what they are thinking about now is working harder to prepare for the next match against Al Ain.
