Zenga: We Won More Than 3 Points From Emirates Match

News
Abu Dhabi: 15 December 2013

The team coach Walter Zenga expressed his happiness with the 3 points his team gets from their last league match against Emirates, and explained in the post match press conference that his team won more than these points.

The coach started the conference by saying that his team played a good match although the guests put a big pressure on them, and he described Emirates as well-developing team and expected that their results will get better after they had their new coach and restored their character.

The Italian described the 3 points they won on Saturday as a very important, but he also stressed that his team won more than the 3 points, as they get their first victory on Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium this season, they kept their sheet clean, they fought hard all the time and showed the real Al Jazira character at that evening.

The coach also said he is happy for the youngsters Khalfan Mubarak and Ahmed Rabee who started Saturday match and performed well in that hard match; he explained that he is working with big talented squad and he is always obligated to give playing minutes to whom who deserved during this long season, but he is happy for Khalfan and Ahmed and he will keep giving them chances in the future.

Zenga admitted that he is not totally happy about the team performance against Emirates, but he insisted that his players deserved to be congratulated because they overcome the frustration they suffered after elimination from President Cup, and because they managed the pressures during Emirates match professionally, because they all know any result beside victory will complicate things in and off the field for them.

He also admitted that he felt worry when his players failed to score from the many chances they created against Emirates, because the same unfortunate scenario happened for them against Al Nasr and Al Wahda, but the luck was on their side on Saturday and awarded them for their great work.

The coach finished the conference by confirming that he is not thinking about winter transfers window or about the Asian Champions League, but he thinks only about the next match against Bani Yas, because it’s what matters the most for him and for the team right now.
