Milos Kosanovic’s penalty was the difference at Fujairah Stadium as Al Jazira edged out Al Orooba in Matchweek 19 of the ADNOC Pro League on Friday.

A goalless first half saw little in way of scoring opportunities with Zayed Al Ameri’s narrowly off-target header from Abdullah Idris’ cross minutes before the break the closest Al Jazira came to opening the scoring.

The visitors finally found the back of the net in the 67th minute after Al Orooba’s Salem Saif brought Al Ameri inside the box and Kosanovic powered the resulting penalty into the bottom corner to put Al Jazira in the lead.

The Serbian defender nearly doubled his tally on the night after Abdoulaye Daiby’s free-kick struck the wall and fell for Kosanovic who hit it on the half-volley, beating the goalkeeper but his effort hit the upright ten minutes from time.

The win raises Al Jazira’s points tally to 35 in fourth place with a game in hand, while Al Orooba are in 13th place with ten points.
