Malcolm starred with a hat-trick as Al Jazira Club overturned a two-goal deficit to defeat Al Muharraq SC 4-2 in their AFC Champions League Two™ 2026/27™ Group B tie on Wednesday.
Abdulwahab Al Malood’s first half brace put the Bahrain side in control but Al Jazira stormed back after the break, Malcom leading the charge with Bruno Conceicao also on target to maintain the UAE side’s unbeaten run.
Al Jazira started on the front foot but were left stunned just three minutes in when Juninho, having battled for possession, released Elliot Simoes down the left flank, with the latter returning the ball to the forward to shoot.
The Brazilian’s effort took a huge deflection off onrushing Al Jazira goalkeeper Ersin Destanoglu, sending the ball looping high across the face of the goalmouth for Al Malood to power his header into the gaping net.
The UAE side were almost punished again eight minutes later when Abdalla Ramadan gave possession away cheaply, allowing Soufiane Mahrouq to pounce on the loose ball, with his effort from just above the area taking a deflection before sailing wide of the left post.
Another defensive calamity proved costly for Al Jazira in the 33rd minute when their high defensive line was caught out by Al Malood after a mix-up between Destanoglu and Willyan Rocha, with the midfielder surging through to slot the ball into the empty net.
Al Jazira tried to respond with Kristjan Asllani pulling his effort just wide of the left post following a corner in the 42nd minute, while Arthur Rezende forced a fine save from Destanoglu at the other end moments later from a free-kick.
The UAE side clawed their way back into the tie in the second half after Ahmed Bughammar conceded a penalty for handball in the 49th minute, with Malcom sending Vladan Dekic the wrong way.
The goal rattled Al Muharraq, who conceded again three minutes later when Milson’s cross from the left found Malcom, who steered the ball home at the far post.
Malcom then turned provider in the 68th minute when he laid the ball for Conceicao to unleash a curling effort from outside the box into the top left corner, giving Dekic no chance.
Al Jazira kicked into high gear four minutes later with Conceicao gaining possession down the left before squaring the ball to an unmarked Malcom for a thumping finish.
