Coach of Al Jazira team, Gregory Dunferres, insisted that his players must have the same mentality and spirit they showed against Al Ain when they host Khorfakkan tomorrow at the Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium and promised the team will treat all upcoming matches like finals.

Here is what he told the media ahead of Tuesday evening’s clash.

Preparations for Khorfakkan

“We find ourselves again working within a very limited time to prepare for an important match because the League fixtures are crowded at this stage of the season, but we will do our best to prepare the available players in the best possible way to give everything against Khorfakkan. We are also missing some important players but this is not an excuse to perform below our known level, we still have a very good group of young players who are ready to step up whenever is needed”.

Fitness Update of the Players

“Ahmed Al Attas and Abdulla Idris missed Al Ain match because they were sick, Neeskens Keebano picked up an injury during that match and Karim Rekik failed to finish it because he was extremely exhausted. We will monitor the situation of these players today and tomorrow before deciding who is going to start on Tuesday. Abdulla Ramadan is still recovering from his injury and we will not rush his return because we don’t want to miss an important player like him for a longer time”.

Spirit and Mentality of the Team

“There is a new spirit in the team and everyone is ready to fight for the team and his teammates even if it requires them to play out of position. We need to keep showing this spirit and mentality in all matches until the end of this season and start collecting triple points to finish this season on a high note so we can prepare for next season in better circumstances. Tuesday's match will not be easy at all, and we will treat it as a final and face our opponent with a fighting spirit and a strong desire to win and get the three points”.
