Al Wasl vs. Al Jazira. ADNOC Pro League. Pre-match Press Conference
Abu Dhabi: Apr. 25, 2024
Al Jazira team coach Gregory Dufrennes insisted that they will face Al Wasl, the leaders of the League, with the intention of playing at their high level, and they will fight to win the three points from the match held on Friday evening at Zabeel Stadium as part of matchweek 21 of the ADNOC Pro League.
While he was talking to the media in the pre-match press conference, Gregory said “Preparations for Friday’s match against Al-Wasl are going well despite the short period we had to prepare for this encounter, compared to Al Wasl who benefited from the postponement of their match in the last round. This is not an excuse, and I assure everyone that we will go there to give our best and fight until the end to leave their stadium with the three points despite the difficulty of this task against the League leaders.”
“Fortunately, no big injuries are affecting the squad, and we are currently evaluating the physical condition of the Olympic team players who recently participated in three international matches within a very short period, there are some players who are suffering from minor injuries and physical problems, but we are confident that they will recover quickly and help the team against Al Wasl.”
Gregory expressed his happiness with the return of the duo, Ali Mabkhout and Abdullah Ramadan, to training and matches. He explained, “Ali Mabkhout is a player with tremendous value for Al Jazira and the UAE national team, and his return to training matches gave everyone an additional amount of positivity and confidence, and I am sure that he will return to his usual level and will retrieve his goal-scoring instinct when he regains his full competitive fitness. Abdullah Ramadan is also an influential player for the club and the national team, and his technical value is unparalleled. He has shown determination to return to participate in matches after recovering from the injury. Still, we will be patient and will not rush to put him in the starting lineup because we do not want to take any risk of losing him again”.
