De Klerk: We will be ready to give it our best against Emirates

Abu Dhabi: Dec. 13, 2023

The coach of Al Jazira team, Bob De Klerk, insisted his team will be ready to give it their best when they visit Ras Al Khaimah to face the home team Emirates FC in matchweek 11 of the ADNOC Pro League, and shared a fitness update about the squad ahead of Friday match.

Here is what Bob had to say in the pre-match press conference.

Preparing to Face Emirates FC

“It's going good despite the short period between the last cup match and the upcoming one in the League. We will go there knowing very well it's going to be tough and complicated because the opponents will fight hard to win and push themselves up in the table away from the relegation places, but we will also fight to get the three points and return to winning ways. We are missing important players for injuries and suspensions, but we have a great squad, and the substitutes are ready to jump in and help the team whenever they are needed”.

Eye on the Opponent

“I think they were unlucky against Shabab Al Ahli because the red card they received was crucial in deciding the outcome of that match and it led to that heavy defeat they suffered at that night. They are still a good team despite their ranking in the table, and they have Andres Iniesta in midfield with his skills and experience and they have good players in attack. We will have to be smart and ready against them and focus on not making any mistakes with or without the ball”.

Fitness Update on the Squad

“Fortunately the injuries Khalfan and Attas suffered in Al Wahda game are not that serious and I believe they will join us very soon on the training pitch. Bruno picked up a minor injury in the ankle in that match but he looks fine and he will travel with us to Ras Al Khaimah. Kamara is training with us and we are discussing his fitness with the team doctors to get accurate information on his availability to play matches”.
